  1. C'mon people... I feel like I'm carrying the whole load. Oh well, I'm off to an early lead... Catch me if you can.

Brian: 6.5 miles. 1-mile run; 5.5 miles on the elliptical, 1/2/11.

  4. I tried to post last night but it doesn't appear to have taken.
8 miles for 2 hr mountain bike ride.

Also, Brian, we aren't counting decimals.

  5. okay, bringing up the rear....I ran 2 miles on the treadmill this morning.

And Ryan, decimals add up!! What the heck!?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Alright... I won't record decimals, but I'm tracking them on my end... and Melissa, I agree... they round up... at least at the .5 mark.

  7. Walked yesterday 30min - 2miles with long legged sister-in-law :)

I'll take nearest 0.5mile for rounding into consideration- go for the extra 1/2mile.....

  8. Jeanette, I don't want to mention this, but because we're on an honor system I feel obligated: My total is currently only 15.8 miles; it was 9.3 total on Saturday and 6.5 total on Sunday. Maybe I'll take your tally as a challenge and get at least 5.5 miles tonight.

  9. thanks for the correction. i misread yesterday's post - or just predicting the future.... I'll update it. its always good to check my math.

  10. I have a suggestion, finish the mile. That is the motivation to workout the extra 5-10 minutes it takes.

  11. alright lee ermey! I ran 2 more miles after school with Kirsten today. (in a t-shirt and capris no less, it was flippin' cold outside!) 4 miles total for Monday! woo hoo

  12. Nice work Melissa!

I didn't have enough time in the day yesterday. The gym closes at 10:00 and I didn't finish my housework until 10:05. I ended Monday with 0 miles, a headache, and an attitude problem. I'll pick up the pieces this evening.

  13. Wow, Melissa! Nice work! And Brian, I was gripe-y too, and you still thanked me for the coffee this morning, so I think you're in good shape. No workouts for me yesterday (you can expect this to be true on all Mondays henceforth, for me), but I do want to make two notes to everyone: I totally forgot about it, but Jonathan has a residency program at the start of every January for his work that totally takes up his time away from home until the 9th (I think it's the 9th). With Jonathan's time being taken, Emily has no helper with baby Sophia, so they are understandably not able to do much at all until next week. Also, Rory is under the weather according to her most recent Facebook post, so she might be getting a late start as well.

  14. Okay, for me on 1/4/2011, 7:14pm: 1 hour total. 25 minutes of Zumba and 30 minutes of yoga. I'm counting the full hour because it was the hardest fricking yoga I've ever done in my life. Tip for beginners-Vinyasa is NOT always beginner yoga. Seriously. I was sweating less when I was doing Zumba, and I always sweat through my shirt with Zumba! Also, Emily emailed me and said that they're doing P90X and will post every Saturday, FYI. I told them Saturday was good because the tally starts over on Sundays.

  15. Alright! I was up from 4 - 5:30am so I did not run this morning, but I did 1 hour of p90x Core Synergistics. Hopefully back to the grind in the morning if I have a cooperative baby!

  16. P.S. Okay, so sorry this is the third post in a row for me, but apparently Danny Bonaduce just stayed at Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana for an anniversary. I'm not sure whether I should take that as a testament to the resort's classiness or, well, the opposite of that, but there it is!

  17. 1/4/11 - 1 mile run (I improved my time by one minute compared to Sunday's run--sweet!) & 3.2 miles on the elliptical trainer. So that is 4.2 miles total which take my tally to an even 20 miles for the week. I'll take your challenges and finish out my workouts to end with even miles for all my remaining posts.

Lastly, if it's good enough for Danny Bonaduce, it's good enough for me. Word it to your mother.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yes, word to all our mothers.
    @Colleen - I can abide that

  19. Jeanette went to the gym again. I'm sure I heard her say as she walked out the door, "I'm going to bury that @#$% Brian Watson."

  20. Wednesday - 3 mile run with Kim - now 2 hour Law and Order SVU!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Wed - 30min weights 30 min ellipticl - 4miles.

@Brian- yes you should be scared.ha.ha.
@Melissa -not sure how to convert the 2 hr SVU into mileage... good job for us on working out!

  22. I think my 1 hour p90x workout from Tuesday got overlooked.
    :(

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Melissa - Awesome. Thanks for the correction!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Alright... No workout again on Wednesday night.

@Jeanette- Are you missing some posts? I'm only seeing 10 miles worth.

    ReplyDelete
  25. thanks for noticing - my monday night 8mile bike ride & lifting weights post got deleted/forgot to push the post comment button apparently.
am i fired yet from the admin position?

    ReplyDelete
  26. No way, I'm sure we're all glad it's not us having to track all this. Thanks!

There must be coe-kai-yane-uh in my coffee. I'm all hopped up and I've been shaking my legs nonstop for over 2 hours. How do I log this?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Brian, you don't log it until after you've cleaned the house tonight with all that pent-up energy! Then, you work out.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thursday p90x Kenpo Karate with Kirsten. I think 20 miles a week is going to be hard.

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Brian - figure out how many calories that burns and correlate it calories you burn when you run a mile and I might count it.....
@Melissa - we need 16miles/week from everybody to make our goal so you are just 1mile shy this week if I calculated right.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Melissa - I agree! I'm at 12 miles after tonight, and I feel like I'm ON track this week--imagine if I felt like I was slacking! But that's what's good about this group--the bikers and overachievers in the group will make up for those of us who base it mostly on time. I figure 12-16 miles/week (3-4 hrs/week) will still get us to our collective goal.

    ReplyDelete
  31. ...oh, and Jeanette is right. When more people came on, the individual goal changed from 20 hrs to 16, so you're almost there! 30 more minutes!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think we can all be overachievers. Now sit on my lap.

    ...The first part was serious.

    ReplyDelete
  33. 2 mile run last night.

16/week is what we have to average, 20/week is what we need to target. There will undoubtedly be weeks where individuals can't get the miles in due to illness, family, work, etc.
The challenge is designed to be difficult but attainable, you must dig deep, workout when you don't want to, sacrifice for the good of the group. We are all in this together.

Also, if we don't get 1800 miles the island will sink and we can't go. Forgot to mention that earlier, sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Oh man, for the good of all Dominicans I will do my part! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  35. good thing we are superheros! yikes.
and sledding counts for exercise right?

    ReplyDelete
  36. The island will sink and become a source of inspiration for a Fox television show that already happened. What? I just totally blew my own mind. I have 1 mile dog walking down this morning, but as soon as Brian gets up we're going back to the gym. Viva Dominica!

P.S. I told the Eskridges to not log their stuff until today, thinking that the week runs Sunday to Saturday (I think that's what I put in my initial email). Is that right? I think this should be the way it works even if it technically gives us 8 days this week because it will be nice to know that Saturday will be able to be a "catch-up" day for the week's tally.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Did 6 mile run around noon, outside cause I'm hardcore. First time I have done 6 miles in almost 2 years.

    ReplyDelete
  38. yup week is from Sunday to Saturday and we got a bonus day this week.
i just looked at the stats:)good job! DR will stay afloat this week at least....

    ReplyDelete
  39. @Ryan: That's awesome! I'm no where near a 6 mile run outside (especially w/ this weather), but I'm going to try to get a solid 6 mile run in by the end of the week. I'll keep you posted through the week... this is subject to change to 5 miles.

@The Eskridges: WTF? Those are some serious miles. You're going to keep us all on toes (or should I say, on our feet working out). Nice job!
