  1. So, what shall our sculpture be? I'm thinking Sirens, other ideas?

  2. Sirens. I like it (even though it will be me who will be dealing with sand in places I'd prefer it not to be). Google image search for "sirens" gets mostly nude sirens. Just a warning.

Pretty quiet start to the week. What's everyone up to? There are a lot of wedding tasks in the air on our end, but we're slowly but surely getting there. We got the wedding favors in this week, and they turned out great. Still no word from JoAnne about the spa credit, but I should be writing soon enough so we can start to really think seriously about an excursion. I've heard excellent reviews about the Saona Island trip. I'll try to do a little more digging to see if I can give you all more complete info. It was nearly 50 degrees today when I got home from work, so after I did a quick workout with a coworker, I took the pups out, and they loved it! Hope everyone's sweating!

  3. I wasn't suggesting that you ladies go topless. We can probably find shell or coconut bikinis.haha

  4. I'm goona need to work out a WHOLE LOT more before anybody gets me in a coconut bikini! :)
I've had a busy week with vet appointments and after school meetings. I haven't hit the exercising all week! I hope to get some gym time tonight while the kids are at AWANA. That will give me a good hour. I'm still trying to get the gumption to work out at 5am. That's only happened once...torture!

  5. I started out the Lenten season on the right note...after gorging myself on French fries last night, of course. This morning I was up at 6, at the gym by 6:45, rode the bike 5 miles, back home now waiting for the 2nd load of laundry to finish so I can get dressed and go to Mass. Woo hoo!

Oh, and good bye French fries and sodas. I will see you at Easter!

  6. @Rory, so french fries and sodas showing up in your Easter basket this year? Good job getting up early to workout....
@Kelly - did you get in your hour tonight?

Mid week - is everyone going to meet the minimum this week of 16miles?

  8. @ Net: Yay! I got my hour in tonight! The stair master makes me feel like I'm going to cough up a lung! I hope I can get in 16 miles.
@ Rory: Way to go! You inspire me! Or at least you reminded me that I need to go start a load of laundry!
@Melissa: Those games can get pretty intense...maybe we should count cheering as exercise! Oh well, 8 miles is better than no miles!

  10. I am going to have to do something major tomorrow night in order to get in the miles, but it won't happen. Friday and Saturday night we will be in Charleston to cheer on the Lady Bobcats on their "Drive for Five". Unless shopping, eating and cheering count as exercise, I will only get in 8 miles this week. BOO

  11. due or die tomorrow for our target goal of 16...or maybe get one more good workout before the week is over....
@Melissa - you did good with 10 this week working out 5 days in a row.
Do we need another challenge next week or wait one more week for another challenge?

  12. We need another challenge or I may have another week like this one! I have another busy weeks with meetings. It's that time of the year! A challenge would help me be motivated.

  13. Oh man. My first week without meeting the minimum. Crap! No excuses, if we had planned better, we definitely could have done it. But here's to doing better next week. Brian and I are both up for a challenge next week, Jeanette, so lay it on us!

I've been kind of stressed lately with the wedding planning (and I don't get stressed), so any encouragement or even just participation is a help! The stress I think is because we're in that "are we sure we've thought of everything" stage, and I was starting to freak out a little this week. But Brian was a total trooper today. He cleaned the house and helped with a load of errands and wedding-related at-home tasks! We've got it under control now, so we should be back in shape next week.

I don't think I've mentioned it, but it's not just our wedding, but I'm a bridesmaid (technically a groomswoman) in a wedding in June and Brian's Kyle's best man and I'm a bridesmaid in Kyle's wedding in July. Those weddings all have bridal showers, bachelor/bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinners, etc., surrounding them, and then in April and May we have our own at-home receptions, work showers, and other events happening aside from the wedding itself. All of my sisters and my mom are visiting in Indy April 15; my dad's b-day is in April; scattered throughout May is Mother's Day and Brian's, Brian's mom's, and my b-days. Throw in Memorial Day and July 4 plans, and there are only about 3 weekends between when we get back and August 1 that are free!! And it's only March!! Soooo planning the next four months of our lives has been quite the challenge, to say the least! Because I felt like my head was going to explode from thinking about those types of things this week, we did not make time for much working out! Needless to say, Punta Cana and having some drinks with you fine folks could not look any more attractive to me than it does right now!! I. can't. wait.

  14. I am up for a challenge this week, too. I went to the gym tonight and hardly anyone was there, so I tried out a few of the machines I had never been on, but was too embarrassed to try with anyone watching. I think tomorrow morning when I go I will try to change it up a little and work out on the eliptical and the rowing machines, as well as the bike.

On a completely unrelated note (well, kind of related to WV's post above) I am hoping to come home for both Scott's & Kyle's weddings. If I am able to, can I book a room at Chez Watson? If it would stress you out more to add a houseguest, then I can certainly find another place to stay. But I have very few requirements as a guest...you wouldn't even have to clean the house for me! I'll wash my own sheets and towels even!

  15. Oh absolutely, Rory! I wouldn't want it any other way, and I hope you can make it to Em and Scott's wedding! And you are a seriously low-maintenance houseguest, so your being here would just make that weekend more fun! No stress added!
