Rory first to win WOW twice. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteAlso we are just over half the mileage and ahead of what we need to average to get our goal. Keep it up.
Already logging more miles than the previous two weeks. Hoping to get back on track this week.
ReplyDeleteHello everyone! Well, better late than never! So glad to be able to help everybody reach the goal! I should be of some use...my goal is to lose 15 lbs so I can borrow all of my skinny cousins beachy clothes! I am such a cheapskate. Now if I can just keep my kids well so I can workout. Getting over the flu with one right now!
ReplyDeleteWell, Brian and I were GOING to get started tonight...and then we ran outta oomph when we got home. No excuses--we were just being lazy. Tomorrow, though, for sure. I've been encouraging Brian to think of a challenge between him and Ryan, so we'll see what he comes up with!
ReplyDeleteWay to start the week off, Jeanette!
And Kelly, one thing this whole entire group has in common, without exception, is admiration for frugality. Emily is the master, but all of us love a good deal. You'll never be frowned upon for borrowing someone else's clothes--not in this group at least! Off to an early bedtime...hope to hit the ground running tomorrow with at least 4 miles (not literally--just 1 hr of exercise, just to be clear).
Brian, Most miles this week. Loser has to pour a full glass of ice water down the front of their swimsuit.
ReplyDeleteAlright.. I'm in!
ReplyDeleteHmmm @ Ryan and Brian. Funny story, actually. I came in from taking the dogs out this weekend, and my hands were cold. Brian had just gotten out of the shower, so I thought it would be funny to put my fingertips on his arm for just a moment so he could see how cold I was. Brrrrr! Then we laughed, and it was over. Fun times with my fiance, right? I proceeded to get in the shower, and my hair wasn't even wet before a LARGE cup of cold water was poured over my head by Mr. Watson. We're not talking a splash here: I would say four full cups of cold water down my back.
ReplyDeleteLesson of the story, you ask? No lesson, really, but I hope Ryan wins this week.
One hour of cardio zumba kicked my butt. But Noah (my 6 year old with the flu)got a good needed laugh watching me shake my bootie! They say laughter is good medicine, right? I hope I didn't scar him for life!
ReplyDeleteI started my 11 day diet today also. I am supposed to lose 9 lbs in 11 days. The program generates a menu for your meals for 11 days. For breakfast I get cottage cheese and hard boiled eggs. It's kind of like the adkins diet but its healthier and there is a small component of carbs involved. It worked last time I tried it (without woking out) so hopefully it will work this time.
Colleen, you talked about Brian and Ryan coming up with a challenge. Are you up for a Zumba challenge?
@Kelly - I'd love to borrow or receive hand me downs :) But having no sisters and 6'0 sister-in-law hand me downs pretty much don't exist. ha.ha....
ReplyDelete@Brian - You should thank your lucky stars that God blessed you with such a great fiancee!
@Jeanette: Thanks for your sympathy!
ReplyDelete@Kelly: I am up for a challenge, but I've been more into yoga lately (though I still do Zumba sometimes with a coworker during the week). How about a challenge of 20 miles this week for both of us, no matter what the exercise?
Well, I got up at 5 a.m. I thought this would surely be the time of some uninterrupted Bible study and then a good workout. At 5:15 I hear the pitter patter of little feet and a snuggely Noah crawls on my lap. How do you argue with that?
ReplyDelete@Jeanette: It is good to look on the bright side! That is one of the pluses to having a big family. I have a few sisters at various sizes that I would be glad to lend out to you any time:)
@Colleen: I'll try to get in 20 miles, but I am working with a handicap here! What is the penalty? I know, I'll pour a cold cup of water on my kids if they keep getting up at 5 a.m. Of course I'm just kidding! Only my husband would seriously consider doing such a thing. ;}
Where's RORY? Last week's W.O.W???? Please don't tell me you got the W.O.W curse?!
ReplyDelete@Kelly - so you mean I can borrow one of your sisters? Ha.ha. Only if they are as fun as Colleen.
Sorry, no curse, but I am glad to see I was missed!! I left my laptop at my sister's house, so I couldn't log in my time. I will admit that I haven't been to aqua fitness in 2 weeks, mainly because of work (2 Saturdays in a row) and a little bit because I didn't want to have to go out into the cold with wet hair.
ReplyDeleteBut I have been keeping up with the bike, so I'm on track. I will be back at aqua fitness this Saturday morning. Plus, I am dogsitting for my sister and she has a treadmill in her living room, so I am thinking that I have no excuse not to work out today and tomorrow.
I better put feet to ground and get some miles in or else I'll be putting ice water to satchel (never a pleasant experience).
ReplyDeleteYeah, and I'm going to leave room in my luggage for a Big Gulp cup.
ReplyDeleteI think it is only right that Colleen gets the honor of pouring the ice cold water on Brian! Whose with me?
ReplyDeleteI feel like i'm in the tour de France.
ReplyDeleteSo before I got on the bike, and before I lifted weights, I ran a 7:01 minute mile... Just a couple more seconds and I'll have 6 at the front of my mile time again... It has been a while since I've done that.
ReplyDeleteNow, back to pedaling.
Yeah, Kell, I like the way you think!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so a quick update on my goal. I'm officially down 4.5 lbs from where I was on Wednesday, Feb. 16. That's halfway to my 9-lb goal! That's some serious progress! Certainly 4.5 more lbs before Friday is unlikely, but I'm still happy that I'm halfway there!
P.S. I checked with my doctor at an appt on Friday, and my lowest weight (in 2005) was actually two pounds lighter than I thought. Whoops! So 4.5 more lbs will still be a celebration, but I'll technically need to be 6.5 more lbs down to actually be the lowest I've been as an adult.
@Colleen - We are going to have to have a big reveal party in DR with everyone losing so much weight. Great job!
ReplyDelete@Brian - good job on your run! Next week are you doing a 6 something mile? Or a 2miler around 14:30?
@Melissa - You are being awfully quiet. Hope you had a good week returning to from vacation.
@Rory - Waiting to see what you craziness you get done while dogsitting with a treadmill in the house.....
@Kelly - great first week with the fitness challenge! Did you typically do all this prior to the challenge too?
I'm still alive! With getting up at 5:50 (about 1 hour before usual) I am dragging in the evenings. Wednesday night AWANA and Thursday evening Dr. appt, then Friday a movie night by myself...I just haven't been on here! But I have exercised. Kim and I did the 30 day shred every morning this week and ran 6 miles total for the week! Yea!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteThis is the website that gives information on all the excursions offered from the resort. It gives prices and some other information if anyone wants to look at what's offered. They look great.
Although I did complete the required miles this week, I didn't go crazy with the treadmill. First of all, the dogs don't like it, so they bark while you walk. Second, and more importantly, I don't like it at all. I definitely prefer the bike and the water. I'll save the walking long distance for trips to Target and work.
ReplyDelete@Jeanette No way! I haven't been this consistent with exercise in a great long while. Thanks for all that you do keeping up with the blog, it really helps keep me motivated!
ReplyDelete@Colleen I could pass on this 11 day diet if ya want to give it a try. I've lost 4 lbs since Tuesday. My last day is Friday and Saturday is Noah's birthday party. I'm not sure if that is good timing or bad. I may eat the whole cake by myself!
@Melissa Awesome site! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDelete@Brian Well I'm proud of your mile time, but I have to say I'm a little bummed cause it looks like there may be no icewater down the pants. But the weeks not over. Ryan will be hard to beat!
Looks like "little Brian" gets the Gatorade splash.
ReplyDeleteI too think that Colleen should get the honor.
@Ryan: I saw last night that you posted 7 miles so I set up the indoor trainer for my bike. I realized that a hard 30 minute ride would put me on top, but when it came down to it I was just too fatigued last night at 11:00 pm to do the 30 minutes. ...now I regret that decision.
