  1. Any challenges, goals for this week?

  2. This may be a tough week in the Dunlap household with evil germ sharing and more travels. We'll see what happens.

  3. My goal this week is slight--to make the minimum mileage. But I'm also setting another longer goal that is weight-loss oriented. I am now within 9 lbs of being the lowest weight I've been since I've been an adult. Since January 1, I've lost 12 of the 14 that I gained during Christmas, so that's good, but I'm hoping that I can reach that "lowest" goal before March 4. 9 lbs in a little over 2 weeks is a lofty goal, but I'm hoping some of those 9 lbs are still remnants of the homemade german chocolate cake that I succumbed to while I was in WV...twice. :) Wish me luck! I'll check in each Friday for my own accountability, and we'll see what happens!

We have an event on Thursday evening that will either force a workout in the morning or will force a lot of "catch-up" on Friday and Saturday, but we'll keep at it! I know Melissa is in Florida, so this week might be a little tricky for everyone!

  4. P.S. Jeanette, my sister, Kelly, has recently decided that she's going to be joining us all in the Dominican Republic. She heard Brian and me talking about the blog this weekend, and so I'm wondering if she could be added? I don't think we need to change our goal or anything, but she could maybe help supplement the mileage during the weeks that she is able to post? I can add her to the "contestants" page, but I don't think I can add her to the "check-in" drop-down myself. Could you do that for me? I think that will cover it. Am I missing anything? Thanks!

  5. Yay, Colleen! I'm sure you can do it. And the more the merrier, I think. So welcome, Kelly!

  6. I have not worked out all week. I'm not sure what is wrong. I've been making too many excuses. I will get some miles in, but even the weekly target of 16 seems challenging to me right now. I tell ya... I just don't know how to be luke warm with anything... Hot or cold.

  7. Welcome Kelly! You are all set up on the check-in!
@Brian - this week seems to be an off week except for Rory..... We can't let her have all the glory can we? :) Just try to get two bike rides in of 8 miles or if it is nice enough up north - maybe outside???? Or go for a run and break a good sweat or does your gym have a pool? Try something you haven't done for awhile..... I'm hoping to get out today or tomorrow, but exhaustion has been beating me up all week.....

  9. Thanks for setting Kelly up, Jeanette! I'll send her an invite tonight. Maybe she can make up some of the slack we've all created this week! Brian and I are going to the gym first thing in the morning, and we're going to try to make up at least the minimum! Thanks for the encouragement about the 9 lbs! I'll definitely keep you updated on the progress! Way to keep us all afloat Rory!

  10. Okay, back from Orlando. Brad tracked our mileage on his phone. We did 5 miles Sunday, 3 Monday and 2 on Tuesday and Wednesday. That was just inside the parks. I had conferences on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so he did WAY more than me from 9 - 2 everyday! It was a great trip.

  11. I'm flying back from FL today, this has been a pitiful week for me. Next week I'm going to get back on it.
Brian, are you up for a bet next week?

  12. I was feeling guilty because I didn't make it to any of my aqua classes this week (actually since last Monday) either because of work, dogsitting or lethargy. But I guess my 2 bike rides make me the standard-barer this week. I have to work today, too, but I am headed to the gym afterwards for one more bike ride this week. To keep me motivated I took one of the pictures from the resort's Web site and made it the wallpaper on my computer at work. Seeing the beach, pools and palm trees all day is keeping me going!

I hope everyone can get some exercise in today. I keep reading on facebook how beautiful the weather is in Indiana right now, so at least get out and enjoy the weather!

  13. Well, we made it to the gym this morning, thank goodness, and we both got in a bit more than the minimum 16 miles! Whew-that was a close one! Let's all hit the ground running for a more stellar week next week. And Rory, I like your motivation idea; nothing motivates me more than thinking of being on the beach soon. A little sacrifice during February will definitely be worth it, come April!

P.S.: A quick welcome to Kelly and also a happy birthday to Melissa today!

  14. I had to work a few hours this morning, but afterwards I went to the gym to try to do another 10 miles. Right as I started, the 2nd half of the North Carolina/Boston College game came on and my hometown boy, Tyler Zeller, was kicking butt for the Tar Heels. So I decided to ride the bike for the entire 2nd half. Twenty minutes of basketball actually was 1:02 of bicycle riding, which was 15 miles. (I actually stopped at 15 miles exactly with 14 seconds left in the game.)

Thank God it didn't go into over time!!
